  • Apple Valley High School Instrumental Music Lessons (grades 9-12)

    The Apple Valley High School Instrumental Music Program is pleased to provide summer lessons to students attending AVHS for the 2024-25 school year. These summer lessons are an extension of the Independent School District 196 Community Education Department. Individual lessons are a great way to further growth and development as an individual musician. Instruction is catered to the specific needs and desires of the individual student. Materials from school lessons are typically used for these summer lessons but may be supplemented by the instructor. These lessons are an ideal way for incoming 9th grade students to get to know the AVHS band directors prior to the start of school and a great way for 10th-12th grade students to continue advancing their skills. All lessons will be held in-person at Apple Valley High School. One make-up lesson at an alternate time can be arranged with the instructor if a conflict (family vacations, etc.) occurs with scheduling of the lessons. Financial discounts are available if your family is currently enrolled in the educational benefits program. Registration closes on Thursday, 5/30.   • Black Hawk Summer Fun Band (grade 6)

    Play a combination of fun jazz, pop and concert band tunes! Register for your grade during the 24-25 school year. No jazz band experience is needed, however students should have already played their chosen instrument in 5th grade.
  • Dakota Hills Middle Summer Pops (incoming grade 6-9)

    A fun opportunity to meet the DHMS band teachers, learn your way around the building and connect with other band students in your grade. Keep up your playing skills throughout the summer. Music will be provided. Learn to play some music from TV and movies, and others you’ve never heard of before!Things like Star Wars, Eye of the Tiger, Creepy Crawlies, Havana, and We Will Rock Youand many more! Going on vacation or have a conflict? No worries! Just come to the weeks you can. *Be sure to register for the grade you will be going into in the fall of 2024. Just add one to your current grade and you’ve found your group! 9:00 – 10:00 am for next year’s 6th grade… get ready to be a middle schooler! 10:15 – 11:15 am for next year’s 7th grade… get ready to expand your band horizons! 11:30 – 12:30 am for next year’s 8th & 9th grade… get ready to be top of the school or a brand new high schooler! Please note if your child is attending DHMS Summer Academy, they will be excused to participate in Summer Pops. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS JUNE 5th (the last day of school).   • Falcon Ridge 7/8 Grade Jazz Band (grades 7/8)

    This group is for any FRMS band student entering 7th or 8th grade. Come play new styles of music - swing, blues, latin, funk, rock, pop, and more! This group meets from 12pm-12:50pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays AND Thursdays between July 30-August 15.
  • Falcon Ridge Band Percussion Ensemble (grades 7/8)

    This group is for any FRMS percussionist going in to 7th or 8th grade. Come play fun music and enhance your percussion skills! This group meets from 9am-9:50am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays AND Thursdays between July 30 and August 15
  • Falcon Ridge Middle School Festival Band (grade 6)

    This is a large ensemble experience, much like the before/after school rehearsals students had in 5th grade. We want as many students on as many instruments as we can! The 6th Grade Festival Band will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, AND Thursdays from 10:00-10:50 a.m. between July 30-Aug 15. Students will work on fun and engaging music, work on large ensemble playing skills, and get to know their future classmates. There will be a performance on the last day, time and location TBD.
  • Falcon Ridge Middle School Festival Band (grades 7 & 8)

    This is a large ensemble experience for FRMS band students entering 7th and 8th grade. We will play and learn pop and movie music, and have a great time reconnecting with friends. This is a great way to get back in the swing of things before the school year begins. This band meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, AND Thursdays from 11am-11:50am between July 30-August 15.
  • Falcon Ridge Middle School Semi-Private Band Lessons (grade 6-8)

    Falcon Ridge Band Staff will offer 3 small group band lessons, to be scheduled between August 1-August 17, Tuesdays-Thursdays. Lessons will take place at Falcon Ridge Middle School between 9am-1pm and will be 30 minutes in length. Each lesson will be scheduled for the same day of the week and time.
  • Rosemount Middle School Individual Band Lessons-Brass & Woodwind (grades 6-8)

    Rosemount Middle School Private Band Lessons - Four Week Session 1:1 lessons for students entering grades 6-8 who are attending RMS. Get better on your instrument - fast! We will personalize your lessons to your needs and interests. Open to students that play brass or woodwinds at RMS in grades 6-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. Private lessons will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday for four weeks, one lesson per week, and are 30 minutes in length (indicate your day/time preference during the registration process; please choose no preference when possible). We are unable to reschedule missed lessons. Lesson times will be sent to you by the end of the school year. We will do our best to meet your requested times for lessons. All lessons will be held at Rosemount Middle School. Register by May 24, 2024.
  • Rosemount Middle School Summer Percussion Camp 2024 (grades 6-8)

    Calling all percussionists! This week-long camp is open to all percussionists in grades 6-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. Focus on learning the skills from beginning to advanced levels in snare drum, xylophone/bells/marimba, note reading, timpani, and drumset. Build, workout, and flex your percussion muscles (“chops”) by playing exciting music together each day in all areas of percussion. Learn some FUN percussion ensemble songs to play together for families in an informal performance at the end of the week. Come drum with us!
  • Valley Middle School of STEM Instrumental Music Band Lessons (grades 6-8)

    The Valley Middle School of STEM Instrumental Music Department is pleased to offer private band lessons this summer. These lessons are an extension of the Independent School District 196 Community Education Department. We offer four weeks of 20-minute individual lessons (preferably one lesson per week, please indicate your day/time preference during the registration process; please choose no preference when possible). Students may sign up for 2, 3 or 4 lessons. Individual lessons are a great way to further growth and development as an individual musician. Instruction is catered to the specific needs and desires of the individual student. Materials from school lessons are typically used for these summer lessons, but may be supplemented by the instructor. These lessons are an ideal way for incoming 6th grade students to meet the VMSS band teachers prior to the start of next school year and a great way for 7th and 8th grade students to continue advancing their skills. We are unable to reschedule missed lessons. Lesson schedules will be emailed to families by the end of the school year to the email provided in the registration process. *All lessons will take place in person at Valley Middle School of Stem.     A fun way to connect with other band students and keep up your playing skills throughout the summer. Also, a great opportunity for 6th grade band students to meet the VMSS band teachers and learn their way around the school building. Going on vacation or have a conflict? No worries!
